A Sense of Self: The Practice of Pratyahara

  • Michigan Yoga Association 3427 Gull Prairie Drive Kalamazoo, MI, 49048 United States (map)

The yogis and mystics suggest that our struggle will dissolve if we can see ourselves more clearly. We will play with refining our instruments of perception and turn them inward (pratyahara) to discover the deep loving order of which we are intimately a part. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras will be our primary text of reference with some engagement with the Bhagavad Gita.

These teachings only exist in relationship, so who shows up will determine the exact techniques with which we experiment.  Generally our practice will weave easy asana, pranayama, meditation and include time for discussion. We seek to discover a greater sense of wonderment, joy and acceptance.
