Transformation is the process of becoming more attuned to the subtler, powerful, mysterious forces that truly run the cosmos. When we can touch these forces within ourselves, we can know we are wanted, have a purpose, and are free. This inner knowing allows the heart, and therefore the mind, to be at peace. Our time will combine simple asana, pranayama, and pratyahara.
Time: 2:30 to 5:00pm.
Cost: $50. If taken with Breathing Room in July, total cost for both $95.
Allowing for the needed space and support for the heart, we will turn our attention to one of our greatest and most precious teachers, our own breath. Our time together will weave very simple asana and techniques to enrich our relationship with the breath. Our afternoon will be mostly practice, indulging just enough philosophy and anatomy to support our investigations.
Time: 2:30 to 5:00pm.
Cost: $50. If taken with Connected Heart in August, total cost for both $95.
Jetsumna Tenzin Palmo's translation of the teachings penetrates deep into your heart and mind, removing the obstacles of understanding.Join us for this very special opportunity to be with her.
How do we strengthen our relationship with our internal guidance? How do we stop wasting our precious life force trying to figure out what to do next? How can we more quickly resolve our internal conflicts? The yogis and modern sages have a lot of suggestions. We will use familiar texts and current research as our guides. As usual, we'll tune our senses inward (pratyahara), we'll steady our attention (dharana), and we'll open to our vast awareness (dhyana). We'll move a little too (asana). Looking forward to being together again. Sign up here.
This week we will awaken our senses, refine our skills of perception, and turn on our curiosity to experience a new quality of inner alignment and the courage to trust. We will engage in full self-attention and self-acceptance, remembering that like any good relationship, the one with ourselves requires our time and attention.
Habits form with or without us and our brains do not know the difference between the good ones and the less good ones. With the tool of self awareness, we will get to know the inner workings of our heart more intimately and how to train them with our best interests in mind. Join us at Sun and Moon for a weekend of meditation practices, a bit of asana and discussion.
The yogis and mystics suggest that our struggle will dissolve if we can see ourselves more clearly. We will play with refining our instruments of perception and turn them inward (pratyahara) to discover the deep loving order of which we are intimately a part. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras will be our primary text of reference with some engagement with the Bhagavad Gita.
These teachings only exist in relationship, so who shows up will determine the exact techniques with which we experiment. Generally our practice will weave easy asana, pranayama, meditation and include time for discussion. We seek to discover a greater sense of wonderment, joy and acceptance.
With some examination, we can see that the mind is a vigilant problem solver. She finds peace when she is allowed to rest where there are no problems. Experiencing this Truth requires her full attention.
Our attention follows our senses. Our senses are generally tuned towards the external realm seeking satisfaction in the impermanent. In our time together, we will explore ways to turn these sensitive, magnificent and powerful instruments towards the inner realm where true satisfaction awaits. We will practice pratyahara and allow ourselves to look, listen, touch, taste and sniff inwardly with the hope of discovering that there is no problem to solve.
Practice spending quality time with yourself.
